Zoltan a is arguably better than zoltan b. Engi a is a very polarizing ship but i think it should be higher stealth b does not belong with the trifecta of rock a engi b and slug b heres my rankings.

Its only weakness is no way to get through zoltan shields with the starting equipment but the high value of that equipment more than compensates for the lost scrap.
Starting weapons can only be found aboard the ship that has them i include crystal weapons because getting to the crystal sector to buy them is an extremely rare and difficult. Mantis b has the best starting defenses of any ship and the insanely good 4 man teleporter. Since ftl is a game of rng you want to minimize any variance as much as possible. The weapons at the top of the list are consistently effective in almost any ship set up. The one exception in amazing tier would be the pike beam and thats because its fairly easy to get something to break through shields and the trade off is immense. Halberd beam and leto is an awful awful starting arsenal good for sector 1 2 if youre lucky.
B tier kestrel a federation a kestrel c engi a. The purpose of a tier list is not to discuss what could potentially happen but rather to evaluate relative strength in a vacuum. The only ship ive piloted which more restarts let alone anywhere near as many is the dreadful engi b. If this tier list were based on my experiences the zoltan a would be lower than the slug b. The universe of ftl is inhabited by friendly and enemy ships. Crystal b belongs in a tier by itself.
Welcome to v21 of the ftl ship tier list. These ships come in a variety of layouts and can be equipped with various systems and subsystems weapons drones and augmentations. Lanius b is a candidate. The only upside it has is slightly more than average junk to sell off. Its not only the only ship in the game with 1 crew its also the only ship in the game that cannot bypass tier 2 shields with its starting weaponry. Too because its both a boarding ship and a gunship.
Engi bs downside is the entire ship not merely the crew which is worse than any other ship in the game. Faster than light ftl is a realtime strategy game with a space setting in which your crew must survive a highly lethal trek to search out and destroy the rebel flagship.
